Ball pits are fun. We know it with the way how our kids get excited every time we take them to indoor playgrounds and it’s the first one they dive straight into the moment they slip out of their shoes and into their play haven.
From the very first time I brought my daughter into a ball pit, I’ve seen how much she loved the pool of coloured balls where she can roll, swim, jump, and dive into. It’s the reason why when we celebrated her 3rd birthday, we hosted a party at our backyard where a pool of 38,000 balls is the main point of attraction. Both kids and parents are raving about the eye-candy right in our backyard - and to be honest, it was the first time I’ve seen everyone enjoying with the toddlers entertained for hours! Had I known sooner that ball pit rentals can keep a room full of toddlers safe with my fellow moms having the time of their lives, I wished I reached out to Carnival Rental earlier than I did. Ball Pit Rental in Singapore A month prior to my daughter’s birthday last summer, I’ve already planned things out from invitations to the theme, menu, and giveaways and of course, the nitty-gritty part of the party: rentals. Among these included the ball pit rental that was provided by Carnival Rental. Because I was expecting at least 5 kids from the neighbourhood and 10 more from her playschool, I wanted a ball pit that was large enough to accommodate all of them at once. Carnival Central has four different types of rental with sizes ranging from 2m² to 12m by 6m, which can hold 5,000 and 38,000 balls respectively. Besides the balls, each rental is inclusive of cushion wall, cushion stairs, and cushion floor. In addition to all these, there’s one type of rental that particularly caught my attention. It was their LED Ball Pit which can be customised to any size and comes with up to 100,000 balls. It’s actually the first time I’ve heard of such thing and a further look at their website, I found out why. Being a market leader in the carnival rental industry, the company is the first to offer ultra-vivid and colourful LED ball pit for rent in Singapore. In contrast to traditional LED ball pits which actually don’t glow under bright room lighting, theirs utilise the patented Ultra Shine technology which promises to let your ball pits glow even under bright room lighting. The system is said to be self-sufficient thus, worrying about where to plug them wouldn’t be necessary. What’s great about these options is that they’re all ideal both for indoor and outdoor use and 100% safe for kids. All in all, I didn’t need an LED ball pit rental for my daughter’s party since it was held in broad daylight and seeing how the kids had fun as if they’re having the time of their lives, I knew I made the right decision by renting Carnival Rental’s mega ball pit.

I am not grooming my son to be the next Joseph Schooling. Although that may seem like an ultimate goal, my priority would still be to impart with him the value of water safety and benefits he can gain from a swimming lesson.
Further, with the alarming number of drowning cases in Singapore, I feel like as a parent, it’s my responsibility to see that my child learns a valuable life skill that can not only save his life but others as well if need be. So, as early as three, I already enroled him at Swim Efficient, a swimming school in Singapore that specialises in swimming classes for kids. The school is instructed by a certified swimming coach with a remarkable record of helping students with no previous swimming experiences to learn how to swim efficiently and confidently. Life-saving lessons Like any parent, I wanted my child to learn how to swim for safety. While swimming is a great way to keep cool and active over the hot Singaporean humid, it also poses a threat among non-swimmers. In fact, statistics show that the number of drowning cases has nearly doubled in the past five years, many of which have happened in swimming pools. But, despite this alarming number, studies also show that about 728 children would survive every year just by learning how to swim. So, swimming should be one life skill my child really has to learn, as it’s one sport that can potentially be a life-saver. Other benefits of swimming Another advantage of swimming is that it’s a low-impact form of exercise, providing my son with a great alternative to sedentary activities most children of his age are engaged with such as playing computer games and watching TV. Aside from the range of health benefits, it also improves his flexibility, balance and coordination. It holds particularly true for my son. When I gave birth to him, I feared that he will inherit his father’s asthma, a condition that runs in his family. But, swimming helped improve his stamina and his lung’s ability to resist asthma. Building confidence in the waters Two years forward the first time I enroled my son to Swim Efficient, he is now more confident in the waters. His years of training with Swim Efficient has reduced his fear of water, allowing him to enjoy the waters everytime we go out of town. It also made the pools and beaches a less stressful environment for us, as we no longer worry too much during the short times we lose sight of him. Now, back to his swimming lessons, I’ve seen a great improvement in his strokes, and it will not be long ‘til he’s a faster and more efficient swimmer than us. We are just biding time until we’re sure that he’s ready for the advanced swimming program wherein he’ll be trained to dive down the bottom of a 1.8m pool without any aid. During summer time, the Sengkang swimming pool is filled with kids. They learn to swim the freestyle and backstroke among others. With regular practice, improvement in these strokes is experienced.

Sengkang swimming classes for freestyle become more interesting with progress. Body gets relaxed when muscles are moved. Arm flexibility on the sides is practiced. Back muscles become larger. While one arm is under water, the other arm is high above the water. The forearm has a backward position for as long as it can. As the face is underwater, exhale while it can be done. The backstroke is also learned in the Sengkang swimming lessons. Lie flat above the water with face up. Smaller kids can do this more easily. Hips move as close to the surface of the water. Eventually, water goes to the sides of the head. This stroke lets the body be under water in a half-submerged manner. No water enters the eyes, mouth or nose. Do the flutter kick when the body is flat on the water. While kicking forward, arms remain on the sides. One arm goes up and the other arm goes down. Rhythmic movement of the arms and legs is synchronized. Hands enter the water with the edges first. In going out of the water, the thumb appears first. The hips and shoulders are rotated. Practicing in the Sengkang swimming pool improves the skill. Kids who can swim become more active. Taking Sengkang swimming lessons fosters friendships with fellow kids. Riding a bike was one of the many hobbies when I was a little kid. Now as a working-class adult, time isn’t on my side.
I would love to involve myself in a lot of activities, but I just couldn’t. Time was always short. Biking was on of those activities I’d love to come back to. I was only free on weekends, and even then my time is still cut short due to many planned schedules. But one gloomy weekend, I had the major urge to ride a bike again. I wanted to experience the breeze of the wind, the sights of the city, the bustling noise of an urban jungle. My nostalgia came back once more. I thought I could never experience the joy of being a child again. Fortunately, I came upon this website of an east coast bike rental service in Singapore. The bike rental in Singapore also had a variety of different bicycles you could choose from. Age wasn’t an issue, kids and elders could both engage in the same joy of riding a bicycle. You could also choose inline skating (rollerblading) if you’re a fan. Cycling and inline skating were their main specialties. This bike and rollerblade rental in Singapore was a godsend. I saw their presence online while I was virtually finding some great biking spots in town. Time for me was important and sparse, but maybe this bike rental would change my mind. And so it did. Having a tiring 9-to-5 job and family get-together dinners on the weekends make it hard for me to commit to a time-consuming exercise such as biking. But, I had to try. After all, a little adventure with a bike couldn’t hurt my time, I guess? Commitment: a key word when it comes to my job, family, and friends. Maybe for once, I tried something different. Being a kid again was so tempting. So I called my friends, family, told them I might be late to our usual social gatherings. Well, as I expected - being a kid again was worth the time and commitment. I felt the wind gushing towards my face as I push the pedal forward. I could see a modern-day version of the city I grew up in. I can hear the noise of busy vendors selling food on the streets, cars passing by my side, and the simple sound of nature breathing through this urban jungle. “Worth it”, I said to myself. My body was reinvigorated with the physical journey of riding a bike for hours. Singapore is such a beautiful country with even more lovely cities. Riding a bike with such lovely views couldn’t be matched. The rest of my weekends were now productive and healthy after sacrificing a portion of my time to my inner child who wants to escape. Thanks to this bike rental, I was able to be a child again. These weekends were much more fun because I was able to fit all my plans in one joyous day. I would be able to meet my family (sometimes my friends), watch a little TV, play some games, and ride a bike once more. Commitment was a hard task to accomplish, especially if there’s not a lot of time on your hands. But after experiencing the joy of being a kid again, I realized commitment to myself was important. We all experienced that moment when we realize that we’ve gained weight at the most inopportune time. Whether it’s that moment when our clothes no longer fit us or we’re catching our breath on the way to work. That’s biology for us. The years are starting to take a toll on us and we’re not even prepared to meet it head on. But what if we told you there’s actually a way to counter these negative feelings?
One “cool” suggestion we can offer is swimming. Ever noticed how physically fit professional swimmers are, especially when they compete locally and abroad? Ever wonder why you only see lean swimmers both male and female? Even the older athletes in the swimming category don’t really show physical signs of aging. A lot of people are actually envious that they can eat whatever they want and not gain much weight. The plus thing about taking hougang swimming lessons or any kind of lesson for that matter is that you’ll never have to endure that sticky, sweaty feeling. The only concern that will matter is whether the hougang swimming pool will be available for use or not. There’s also the concern of your physical well-being during the sessions. Are you well enough to swim? Is your body ready for the strenuous activities that curtail swimming? Those really are the only necessary things you need to consider. The Real Problem with Weight Management Right now, shedding extra pounds or losing weight can be quite a challenge especially with the way most people lead their lives. Everybody’s so busy and preoccupied either with work or leisure that they tend to forget about taking care of their bodies. Thanks to the media, we also have this insane way of thinking how we should look. We want the nice abs and that toned buttocks or firm legs but we never really do the work. Instead we really on those “easy step” exercises and fad diets that never really work. Physical activities will get you somewhere though. Pair it up with a good diet for the whole week and you can definitely see improvements in your weight in less than a week. But with the recent changes in the climate and constant weather changes, everybody’s prone to sweat out more than what they want. This makes it irritating or annoying workout even if you’re equipped with the best clothes and gear. That leaves us with a few choices left including swimming. Which is a good thing really because swimming lets you enjoy the water, cool your body down to a certain degree and still exercise like crazy. Extra Benefits You May Not Notice The moment you take your swimming lessons seriously, you will begin to see improvements in your daily life. You have better focus than usual, you breathe a lot better than before you started swimming. As you progress with your lessons, you get to see further physical improvement like you start to see muscles developing. This is actually just a portion of what you stand to gain from enrolling in a swimming class. You will get more than what you bargained for when you join in, plus you get to get this cool feeling while swimming in the waters of a giant, Olympic sized pool. Biking is one of the activities that you can do for fun and to also exercise your body. It can be enjoyed by everyone no matter what their genders and ages are.
